Scan Types

These are the types of scans we practice at MLCC:

Total Body Scan - Non-invasive thorough checkup of the entire body, including the brain, arteries, heart, lungs, abdominal and pelvic organs, vertebral spine. Used to detect malformations, degenerative disease, tumors, early cancers (even in patients with absolutely no symptoms). Detects the coronary artery disease plaques that are the major cause of Heart Attack. Includes a highly detailed comprehensive Blood Test.

Coronary Artery Disease Assessment - This 10 minute scan procedure can painlessly detect life-threatening plaques of arteriosclerosis in the Coronary Arteries, the major cause of Heart Attacks.. Measures Coronary Artery Score (CAS), which is a specific number score which tells you how your heart health is relative to other patients of your own age and sex, without any need for injection,in order to determine your risk for heart attack.

Total Body MRI ScanCTA - Non-invasive coronary artery three-dimensional angiography. Used to assess your risk of heart attack due to blockage of the coronary arteries by accumulations of cholesterol and fat, known as arteriosclerosis. Does not require insertion of catheter into the arteries or into the heart. Safe and Painless. No anesthesia required. Entire procedure lasts about 15-20 minutes. Patient may go home immediately after the procedure.

Heart Perfusion and Cardiac Output

Lung Scans - This 5 minute painless scan procedure is the most sophisticated method today for detecting any disease or abnormality of the lungs, particularly Lung Cancer. This scan is extremely important for cigarette smokers and for ex-smokers.

Virtual Colonscopy - This procedure uses the CT scanner to produce stunning color three-dimension photos of the inside of the colon (large intestine) without any internal cameras or tubes inserted into the body. The Virtual Colonscopy accurately detects colon polyps or cancer, and is just as accurate as a routine conventional optical colonscopy. Does not require sedation or anesthesia. Uses the latest in scanning and patient comfort technology.

High-Resolution MRI scans - of the vertebral spine (herniated disks, etc.), and all joints of the body, as well as the brain, abdomen, pelvis, neck, and heart.
